Getting to your accommodation from the airport
It charges £30-35 using a taxi, £25-30 using a UBER, £3-4 using the train. It takes approximately 20 minutes from Manchester Airport to Piccadilly Train Station.
Student Card & BRP Collection
Please wait for the email confirming its arrival from the university before you collect them. Your student ID can be collected from several locations across the campus. BRP can be collected on the campus or at the nearest post office. It is advised to collect the BRP on campus since the university will be able to hold onto the BRP temporarily in case you can not collect it in time.
A general practitioner (GPs) is a local family doctor. General practitioners (GPs) treat all common (less serious) medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment. Make sure you register with an NHS GP within the first few weeks after your arrival in Manchester. You can choose to register with any local GP, or even at the health center attached to your university! There is no charge to register with a GP in England. Just be prepared with some documents to prove your identity, such as your BRP, passport, enrollment letter, etc.
According to Undang-undang No.23 Tahun 2006 concerning Population Administration, every Indonesian citizen (WNI) residing abroad is required to report the presence, move, change of address, the status of residence permit, as well as other important things (such as birth, marriage, divorce, or death). to the local government and/or Indonesian Representative covering the place of residence (Pasal 4 UU no.23/2006). The purpose of Lapor Diri for Indonesian citizens is to help protect Indonesian citizens residing in the UK/Ireland; ensure that Indonesian citizens are registered on the Voters List for the Election; make it easier to obtain immigration and consular services at the Indonesian Embassy in London. Don't forget that you also need to register yourself at Peduli WNI to access services and protection provided by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Getting a National Insurance Number (NIN)
National Insurance Number is needed for part-time/full-time job applications, usually found in the back of the BRP. If not present, students must apply for it and prepare for an interview at the nearest jobcentre plus To apply for a national insurance number, you must be in the UK and have the right to work in the UK. Claiming your council Tax Reduction
If you are living in private accommodation, it’s important to apply for your Council Tax exemption as soon as you are confirmed as a registered student and move into your new place. Council Tax is a local taxation system used in England, Scotland, and Wales on domestic properties. If you only live with other full-time students, you should all apply.
You can usually apply for council tax exemption online on your Council’s website. Just make sure you have the following information ready:
full name of each resident
full address and post code
student ID number of each student
date each resident moved in
